Studio Erameri had the pleasure to meet Patrick Hall, the Founder of Viadot, developers of the new exciting app that has the potential to finally really let consumers directly connect printed advertising to online purchasing. Viadot works with most print media like a poster, newspaper ad or a leaflet taking the user to the relevant thing they want to buy or know more about.
Why are we so excited about Viadot? The app works via image recognition and therefore doesn’t need an ugly QR code. Any photograph or design layout will do. As photographers, we prefer it of course when the image and design is not too cluttered with technical bits.
This also opens up entirely new opportunities to connect products sold in printed media directly to the online store. With a QR code that would have been very ugly indeed since every image would need its own code – that’s why it never took off properly.
